Welcome to
Mother Your Soul
Hi, I'm Katrice, affectionately known as Kat. I'm a dedicated mother to four daughters, a sassy cat, a fantastic fish, and an elusive hamster. I go by she/her pronouns and am passionate about uplifting reproductive and environmental justice within my birthing community.
As a certified birth doula, I'm committed to reviving traditional wisdom from my Tanzanian and Yemeni ancestry. I had the incredible opportunity to serve the birthing community in Zanzibar, Tanzania, through the National Black Midwives Alliance's 2023 Birthworker Service Tour.
My holistic postpartum care approach includes spiritual wholeness, physical healing, family unity, and early childhood education. With a background as an educator and certified school psychologist, my ability to support families during the postpartum period is enhanced.
I firmly believe in the power of bodyfeeding and actively support families as a certified lactation education specialist. I'm working towards IBCLC certification to further assist breast/chestfeeding families. Having faced bodyfeeding challenges myself, I understand the invaluable bond and health benefits it provides. Witnessing the lack of accessible lactation support in my community, I aspire to become a trusted resource for bodyfeeding parents, providing evidence-based information and personalized care to overcome breast/chestfeeding obstacles.
In my precious moments of recentering and self-care, you'll often find me sipping on a soothing lavender or cardamom latte, surrounded by fresh flowers that bring me joy. I love listening to books on tape while planning my next tranquil trip to the coast, always seeking a balance between my profound work and personal well-being. I am unwaveringly dedicated to the well-being of birthing families and committed to ensuring our community can collectively nurture life's most precious moments.
Sincerely,
Kat
